What the Right Door Actually Changes

Beyond the look, here's what homeowners feel from the first time they open a new door.

A first impression worth pulling up to

Your front door is the first thing every visitor sees. The right one turns 'driving by' into 'this is the house.'

No more drafts at the door

Stop feeling the cold roll in every time you walk past the entry in January. Modern doors seal tight against MN and WI winters.

Security you can feel

Heavy-duty locks, reinforced frames, and steel options — your home feels safer the moment the new door clicks shut.

Smooth, silent, easy to live with

Sticky patio doors and rattly storm doors are a daily frustration. Quality hardware makes them disappear into the background.

Door FAQs

What’s the difference between fiberglass and steel entry doors?

Both ProVia options are durable and energy-efficient. Fiberglass mimics the look and feel of real wood with no warping, rotting, or refinishing — the modern default for entry doors. Steel offers the highest security and impact resistance and holds paint exceptionally well. We’ll help you weigh aesthetics, security, and budget at your free estimate.

Will a new entry door actually reduce drafts and energy bills?

Yes. Modern doors are insulated cores wrapped in fiberglass or steel skins, with magnetic weatherstripping and adjustable thresholds. The difference in draft and heat loss versus a 20-year-old door is significant — meaningful in Duluth, Cloquet, Rice Lake, and Cumberland winters.

Can I add a storm door to my existing entry door?

Absolutely. A storm door extends the life of your entry door, adds an extra layer of insulation, and gives you ventilation in shoulder seasons. We can match a storm door to your existing entry or upgrade both at once.

How long does a door installation take?

Most entry and storm doors are a few hours each. A patio door is typically a half- to full-day job depending on framing condition. We protect interior finishes and clean up thoroughly when we’re done.

Do you offer custom colors and woodgrain finishes?

Yes. ProVia’s lineup includes seven stain colors per woodgrain series (Cherry, Mahogany, Fir, Oak) plus a wide palette of paint colors. The ProVia design tool lets you visualize the door on your home before you commit.

What warranty comes with the doors?

ProVia warranties vary by product line but include multi-year coverage on finishes and lifetime coverage on the door itself on most series. Morin’s also provides our own workmanship warranty on the installation.
